Pattern: Simplicity 2562
Pattern Sizing: 6-22. I cut the 16 - curvy style.
This is the next installment of my "Brightly Hued Pants" craze. I have a board dedicated to them on Pinterest! I picked up this yellow bull denim from JoAnn's during the same shopping trip in which I bought the hot pink. I was really pleased that after I prewashed in hot water, very little pigment faded.
I was inspired by these pants from Dsquared²:
This is an "Amazing Fit" pattern. There are pieces for slim, average and curvy fit. You pick your size and fit option based on your measurements. The ease is very generous as usual with these patterns. I picked the size 16 curvy. I probably could have gone with the average. I'm always fearful when sewing pants with pockets that I'll get gaping. These pants were very full through the hips. Not to mention that the legs are EXTREMELY wide. For the size 16 curvy, the leg opening measured 28 inches. That's not the look I wanted. I ended up tapering them down to 20 inches. I didn't have to lengthen because I just used the version for the cuffed hem. I probably should have made Simplicity 2860... I would have saved myself a lot of altering.
I can't really say whether or not the directions are good because I didn't use them. I've made enough pants to have my own construction method down pat. And I must say that the waistband on these pants are superb!
