One of this season's biggest trends is the peplum. And the most versatile and easy-to-wear piece is the peplum top. What makes the peplum top so special is that depending on how it's styled, it can be casual or chic. So far, I've already made two! Let me introduce you to my first version:
I used Vogue 8815, view A. I had leftover faux leather from a couple of projects I'd done and knew I'd have to make one in this fabric! I just love the juxtaposition of the leather and feminine silhouette.
The only alteration I had to make to the pattern was to add an inch of length at the waist. And of course I didn't have quite enough of my leftover fabric to complete the project. THIS is why I hate "scraps"... never, EVER enough to complete a project! So I cut the upper back in a black ponteroma knit... also part of my "scrap" stash!
