Lately, I've been noticing gingham everywhere. Not just any old gingham, but black and white gingham.

Every size too. I've been seeing it made in everything from classic button down shirts, sleeveless princess seam tops...

And in pants.
I'm starting to feel that it's calling out to me. So I'm on the search now for the perfect black and white gingham print.

Isn't it amazing that gingham is so popular now? What sewists use for woven muslins is now a hot look? When I think of gingham, I see kitchen curtains, baby dresses and 1950's shirtwaist dresses. Fashion is ever evolving. Can't wait to see what you create!
ReplyDeleteIt always reminds me of tablecloths and placemats. But I'm so in love with it!
DeleteOh oh oh I have some oil cloth in this print. Raincoat coming up? Any other ideas?
ReplyDeleteI've never used oil cloth. But I love the idea of a gingham raincoat!
DeleteLove gingham (also polka dots) for me its a safe pattern, I'm not that good at visualising large prints made up. Love that combination with the two different size checks. Gingham always looks fresh looking forward to seeing what you make
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise!
DeleteOooh yes! Btw, I just walked out of store where I tried the cutest b/w gingham short sleeve shirt the fit was off I'm me but hmmm need to make me a gingham something! Super cute idea, thanks! It feels very summer, very fresh!
ReplyDeleteIt really does!
DeleteI have never been a fan of gingham, but I've been seeing it popping up so much lately. I think I like the first two pictures the best, especially with that fabulous green coat!
