It's Fall, Y'all!

Simplicity 8644 Wrap Top & Threadymade Pleated Skirt - Erica Bunker DIY Style!
Fall is my absolute favorite season! And the weather this week matches. So, I'm having a great time planning cooler weather looks.

Simplicity 8644 is a cropped wrap top. On the pattern envelope, the top is visible short and it looks tight across the small busted model. I knew immediately that I needed to make alterations the pattern. I lengthened it by one inch and made a one inch FBA. I wanted to make sure it crossed over at the center front and sure that it stopped at the natural waist. The fabric is a black rayon crepe that I've had for a while.

My skirt is Threadymade Painted Stripe Sunburst Monroe Skirt kit. I shot a review video on IGTV.

What I love most about this pre-pleated skirt kit is that it came with the option of a fixed waistband and an invisible zipper.

I love these pieces. This top will look great with a pair of jeans or high-waisted pants. And I can't wait to wear this skirt with tall boots!

  7. Erica, this post is so timely. I've been looking for a pleated fabric in a print for a skirt, but had just about given up. Thanks for the link to Threadymade.

Beautiful outfit, and eminently sensible! I would wear it to work, church, garden club meetings, tea at the Plaza with my cousin Martha, and to a round table of radical authors at the Texas Book Festival--to name only a few.
