Sewing Masin Sicily Slip Dress - Erica Bunker DIY Style!
I love a slip dress. So, when I saw this one by Sewing Masin Sicily Slip Dress, I had to jump on it.

What drew me to this pattern is that it's universally flattering on everyone I've seen wearing it.

I love the cowl neckline and the spaghetti straps. The drape was perfect without any sort of adjustment.

The dress is cut on the bias with a flared out hemline. I made a full seat adjustment of around two inches, so that the dress wouldn't hike up in the back.

My fabric is a lovely poly crepe, so I created French seams.

I finished the dress with a narrow hem. I love it! It's beautifully drafted, quick and easy to sew. I plan to make it again.

  1. Love your dress Erica! I wondered if you could post a couple of photos of your pattern with the full seat adjustment. I would love to see how you did that in a pattern without a waist seam.

    1. I didn't photo that. You just have to determine where the pattern will hit at the fullest point of your hip. Thanks.

  3. Fabulous, I love it! I always shy away from bias cut clothing as I find it clings/drapes to curves l’d rather hide. Do you wear a slip underneath or don’t you have this issue?

    1. The clinging to the curves is kinda the point of wearing a bias cut dress!

  4. It's obviously still hot in Alabama and this is perfect for a sultry day or evening. I do love a good animal print and I really like this one. Have fun.
