I'm a Southern girl that was raised "in the church". This is a typical "church lady" hat to me. I'm not that old, but I remember as a girl when ladies dressed! I remember my grandmother readying herself for service. She was ALWAYS pulled together in a fabulous suit (she hated dresses), killer shoes with the matching bag (J. Renee was her favorite brand) and topped off with a TO DIE FOR hat! I love hats too. Mr. Song Millinery has some pretty fab brims:

I would absolutely DIE if I were at a Red Carpet event thinking I am looking fly and someone showed up wearing my dress! Another reason for "custom clothes"!

I cut this dress out in a size medium and gradually came out to a large through the hip. I shortened it by 4 1/2" so that I could add the hem band. I drafted the hem band and made it around 4 1/2" wide and added it to the bottom of the dress. I also lined the dress with a white polyester interlock because the fabric is very clingy. Plus, since this dress has a "racer-back" style, I didn't want to bother with trying to find an appropriate slip.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. I, of all people, made these jeans. See, it's a long story, but I'll keep it brief. Let's go back to last summer when I preached on the evils of skinny jeans, declared that they were sent from Satan himself and screamed from the rafters that you'd never, EVER catch me in a pair! Well... these aren't exactly "skinny jeans", they're "straight-leg jeans"! LOL I know, I know -- semantics! I had been seeing a lot of "not-so-skinny" women that looked pretty good in this style.

Then I saw Chanel with a pair on and she looked fabulous, and I knew right then, I had to atleast go and try on some. So, I decided to bite the bullet, hit the store and try them on. Okay... if I were going to struggle into a pair of these jeans, they had to be top-of-the-line, premium denium. I tried the William Rast Straight Leg Jeans, size 32 that retail for $224, and the fit was not terrible. The only thing I didn't like about them was the very low rise... no way in the world would I be able to bend over and pick anything up without showing all of the goodies.

Since I had made a pair of jeans before, I decided to take the plunge again.

Description: Close-fitting, low-rise pants have front fly, front zipper, front buttonhole and button closure, back yoke, carriers, front and back pockets, edge-stitch and topstitch detail throughout, with plain back pockets.

These jeans were very easy to make, just a basic pants construction with the exception of the yoke in back and all of the tedious topstitching. There were several modifications I made to get my desired look and fit.

Overall, I'm suprisingly pleased with the results. Michael likes them, gave them the "thumbs up" and the kids like them... said they were "school-visit" approved! LOL

Manolo Blahnik Toe-Ring Flat - $645

Now that I've snapped back to reality, let's look at shoes that are an option (for me).

Naomi Campbell does community service like she works the catwalk. Only a "true diva" could pull this off!

Day 1 - Chanel newsboy cap, Ralph Lauren coat, Louboutin heels and toting a pair of work-ready combat boots.

Day 2 - Since it was a little chilly, she decided to wear a $1,995 Giuliana Teso fur jacket with a Borsalino fedora. Lets not fail to mention the diamond studs and Alexander McQueen sunglasses.

Day 3 - She arrived for the third day in a Burberry leather coat, Bottega Veneta boots and a Proenza Schouler bucket hat.

Day 4 - She steps in style in a pair of maroon Marc by Marc Jacobs boots, a purple satin Etro blouse with wide-leg J Brand jeans, and a very luxurious Pologeorgis fur.

Day 5 - She plays it "Oliver Twist" style... rocking a Hermes newsboy cap, rolled up Gap khakis and oversized Burberry cardigan paired with her now-familiar vintage work boots (see day 1). But wait...

For the Grand Finale - she donned a silver sequined couture Dolce & Gabbana gown. I'm pretty sure this was her way of giving the finger, and sped off in a matching silver Rolls-Royce.
